I’m Shaheryar Yousaf, a full-stack developer and independent builder working at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI.

For the past several years, I’ve been building production-ready web and mobile applications—mostly as a solo developer—using stacks like Next.js, FastAPI/Django, PostgreSQL, and React Native. My work ranges from internal tools and SaaS products to AI-powered systems that deal with real constraints: data quality, system boundaries, long-term maintainability, and user trust.

Lately, my focus has shifted toward agentic AI systems—not as a buzzword, but as a practical design mindset. I’m interested in how systems reason, retain memory, make decisions, and operate over time without constant human prompting. I write to clarify the difference between chatbots, automation, and true agent-like behavior, based on what actually works in production rather than theoretical demos.

On Medium, I write from a builder’s perspective. That means:

- explaining how things work in real systems,

- acknowledging trade-offs and limitations,

- and avoiding hype in favor of clarity.

My goal isn’t to teach from a pedestal, but to document understanding gained through building, breaking, and refining systems over time. If you’re a developer, founder, or engineer trying to think more clearly about modern software and AI systems, you’ll probably feel at home here.
